Anomaly 2 App Reviews

Just loaded the game onto my new MacBook Pro and it bombs even as it is starting up. Worthless! To make matters worse - no apparent support! Time for a refund.

Good game, but way too short in story mode, only 14 missions. That is 1€/mission, not a cheap game. Work was done on multiplayer mode, but I cant use it without any friend gaming with me. First Anomaly was great, this one do not add value for me without bot on multiplayer side.

I was looking very much forward to this game and bought it without hesitation. Since even a very careful look at the game description provided no hint of the hardware requirements, this felt right - until the purchase was made and the download quit, saying that my iMac’s graphics card is not supported (which, by the way, was not a problem with Anomaly part 1). Thus, I have spent money without getting the content (it will not even let me download the game). Why was there no advance warning about the hardware requirements on the game page…?!? I also did not find information about this on the “Anomaly 2 Support” page. A real shame, all the money wasted… for nothing. And I was so looking forward to playing this game, and would most probably have given it a rather favourable rating! As “Johnniehare”, I am running OS X Mavericks.

An awesome twist on tower defense strategy game. Graphics and effects are beautiful and the game is stable. I was a fan of the first game and I found this new iteration better in every way except for the commander. For some reason, you now have to move a commander around to place your abilities. I found this quite anoying and felt it added little to the gameplay. Anyway, I just finished the game and felt it was well worth the price! Kudos to the team.

Great Game

Awesome game - great graphics, sound and playability. Worth the asking price. One slight issue - I loose the mouse pointer a lot of the time!

Too Hard

Way too hard on easy mode. Also a windowed option would be nice too. Its full screen.

Love the concept of this game. Single player mode is intense but I would not say its too hard just takes some learning. Graphics have some potential but with no resolution options it looks a little rough on a rMBP. One major gripe is I dont know why it has to use so much power! This is my only app that kicks my fans on and I can only get 2 levels in before I need to start looking for my charger which seems quite ridiculous.

Loved the original game. This one has major potential too. Its fun right out of the box, but needs a few things fixed. 1. It doesnt support native resolution on my 13" retina Macbook Pro. That makes the graphics look just OK. This needs an update. 2. The cursor seems to disappear or blend in WAY too much and leaves me struggling at key battles in the game. 3. Not sure why the change in game dynamic, but it is kinda annoying having to guide the little guy in a battle suit all over. WHat was wrong with the gameplay in the original? Seemed much easier to manage and (for me at least) it was WAY more enjoyable. Now it is a bit frustrating to have to focus to him instead of the units and action. Just my 2 cents. Numbers 1 and 2 def need attn though. Ive just stopped playing the game and dont feel like the price is justified with glitches like that in the game. Fingers crossed for an update ASAP to take advantage of the splash the game made in going live.

I agree, it’s too hard in story mode. I tried it in casual mode and in nightmare and saw no difference, at least in the first segment. Also agree with the remark concerning the loss of the cursor also.

Not sure why people says the game is too hard on easy? All i can say is that this game is fantastic. i mean seriously. I rate it 4/5 due to a lack of players online for multiplayer battles and the lack of non story mode maps. dont bother wasting your time waiting to find someone online and with like 11 maps of which 3 are basically tutorials youd think there would be a couple maps just to play.

Its a good game with some issues.

The game is fun but it is a big more difficult than its predecessor and for some reason the game crashes every time i click on the settings button.

Love the series and concept. The controls took some getting used to. For those with Cursor issues - Go to System Preferences / Accessability - and increase cursor size. This is basically mandatory to play the game! I thought it was quite a bit harder than the other Anomaly’s on the ipad but eventually beat it on Nightmare once you learn how to deal with situation. Hope we see more based on this engine as the mech / morphing concept is fantastic.

This game is amazing. my only gripe is that it doesn’t natively support retina resolutions. for a $15 game mad for a mac, retina should be included. 3 stars until its updated.

This game crashes frequently and after emailing their support team and waiting days for a response I don’t feel as if this was entirely worth my money. Even on low settings the enitre game will quit without warning or saving check points and the levels are only so interesting 3-4 times through. So far I’ve tried reinstalling the game to no success. I have more than the necessary processing and memory to run the game. Because there are frequent crashes and NO RESPONSE from support team I have to say that you should just save your self the $15 lesson and get something else. Very dissappointed so 2 stars.

As previous reviewers have noted, the cursor is impossible to see. This makes the game incredibly frustrating - almost to the point of being unplayable. I would not recommend this game to anyone until this has been fixed.

Massively playable after 5 years, if it will launch

Yes, it still has play in it, but it isn’t compiled for the latest cpu. Chillingo needs to remember that this game is still worth playing.
